And so it begins

This marks a milestone in the development of Aardvark Tongue Publishing - the establishment of the blog. You are invited to participate in the development of this publishing entity (provided that I have turned on the comment function). This is the first post. This post precedes the actual website (which is just around the corner).

I am Bob Ragsdale, I have written Sun-Dried Aardvark-Tongue Swizzle-Sticks and have created Aardvark Tongue Publishing in order to get the book into print. Along the way I have discovered that copywriting of this type is really a good thing for me. I have also discovered that collaboration on projects of this sort is a very good thing and lastly, I have discovered that I know very little about publishing. Thus the blog.

The blog will document my process in developing this book and getting it published. I will be writing some posts that go back in time - a retrospective as it were (a retro blog?) - to give you a better feel for how we have arrived here and so that you can help contribute to where we are going more readily.

I will also ask that you participate as fully as possible, both in the conversation and in where we take this company and our titles. I would like to create new titles, or at least the start of them using a Wiki - but I am unsure of how to fully use Wikis at this point so this will be something that we tackle in the near future. I did find a really cool Wiki tool called TiddlyWiki that I am evaluating for this purpose but I really need to learn more about this technology before I proceed (to be quite frank, I am pleased as punch that I was able to get this blog up and running without having to beg any tech friends for help).

As this is the first post I will give credit where credit is due (related to this project). To Alison who I love more every day I thank you for everything. To Jamie Guy for bringing my thoughts to life through illustration and for suggesting a few new (and equally sick ones). And to Marty Stake for his impending work which will bring the project to life on the web.
