The books arrived early! To say we’re excited would be an understatement (they look awesome). The best part of it was the delivery driver - he saw the “Sun-Dried Aardvark-Tongue” marking on the boxes and asked “Is this some kinda Chinese love potion or sumthin?”
Yes…I suppose it is.

Tne recording of the of Sun-Dried Aardvark-Tongue Swizzle-Sticks audio book is well underway. It’s more work than anticipated:
Each entry is about 60 seconds long. It takes an average of 4 or 5 attempts to get a read that we’re happy with = 5 minutes. Add in 7 minutes of editing and 3 minutes of saving and file conversion and we’re at 15 minutes per entry. Multiply by 78 entries, 79 with the intro = 1,185 minutes.
20 hours of studio time! - Whew.

A key component of our marketing plan is the newsletter (I know, I know - I said some time ago I would detail the marketing plan and I haven’t done so yet). Being a big advocate of open source software (and not wanting to pay for software) we have decided to go with poMMo. It was really easy to upload and get running. We are have encountered a couple of small bugs but the support forums are great and sorting them out has been easy. As we get nearer the launch you might want to sign up for the newsletter so you can get free book excerpts and announcements when they are ready.

Progress is slow but sure at the moment so like the rabbit and the hare, slow and steady wins the race. We’ve been updating the hosting settings to get ready for the newsletter that will launch along with the site. The audio-book CD cover is designed and now we have only a couple of outstanding pieces of photography to get done…oh, and of course the books need to arrive. Slow. Steady.

ThisĀ has undoubtedly turned into one of the least interesting blogs, even to me. The book has been delayed at the printers again (this time no fault of my own). Promised date: Jan 31st. Thank goodness not many lives are depending on the publication of this Aardvark.
